Agreement boosts cooperation between UN space affairs office and UAE
A new agreement signed Wednesday is now in effect between the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs(UNOOSA) and the United Arab Emirates Space Agency. Both sides of the partnership are committed to achieving the peaceful use of outer space. The UAE and UNOOSA are focused on developing capacity-building frameworks around technical and legal aspects necessary for achieving desired outcomes. In addition to promoting regional cooperation, joint research projects are important for exploring economic and social benefits in outer space. The agreement is referred to as a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and has a lifespan of five years.
